As the founder of United DJ School and Sound of Zeus DJ Management, he has shaped the path of the Indonesian dance-scene, taking the crowds on a different journey, a potent and unique mix of creativity, originality and avant-garde notoriety
There are only few who can claim to be part of the renaissance that transformed the clubbing scene in Indonesia and Ali is one of them
Learned to mix by using vinyls equipped Ali with technical skills and the ability to feel the music, which cannot be obtained by learning to mix on a CDJ
This made him one of the most technically sound and passionate DJs around
His first gig was at a rave party in Bandung in 2000, where he shared the decks with other first-timer DJs such as Anton, Romi, Riri, Winky and Erfan, all of whom have since grown to become among the best known and loved DJs in Indonesia
His first residency was at a club known as The Gate in Jakarta, where he and his fellow resident, DJ Bone, were entertaining crowds of more than 1,000 serious party goers with a mixture of progressive and tribal, preferring to work with vinyls because of the better connection with the music and superior sound. In 2004, he went on to become an event DJ, playing at theme events where he could play the type of music he wanted to play, and also opening for DJs like Kasey Taylor, Randy Katana, Simon & Shaker and Steve Gerrard

And when asked how he plans each journey, Ali, in his typical humble way, says “…I don’t plan anything, I just get behind the decks and play from my heart…”, truly the words of a man whose calling as a DJ remains his passion
